Focus: Health Disparities
47 million Americans do not have health insurance. During the week, students will volunteer in Federally Qualifying Health Clinics, explore the health care system, and learn what needs to be done about the problem of health disparities in the United States. ASB Baltimore attempts to uncover the causes of health disparities, and help provide relief for communities that are currently struggling from its widespread effects.
Students will spend the week in Baltimore volunteering in clinics and visiting the world-renowned Johns Hopkins University Hospital, as well as one day touring around Washington D.C. while learning about health care policy in this country.
Nationwide healthcare has and continues to be a pressing issue in our country. This trip provides participants the ability to experience it from a unique perspective, while traveling to one of the most historic cities on the east coast.
