Description of Service Projects

Beautification Projects
Beautification efforts (cleaning, organizing and painting) are important for many reasons, but primarily, a neighborhood or an organization's appearance plays an important role in the overall quality of life for residents or organization members.

Community Gardening Projects
Community gardens are places where people share land to grow vegetables, herbs, and flowers in individual plots and in common areas; where people exchange resources and socialize; and ultimately where people cultivate a sense of community .

Friendly Visiting
Friendly visiting is a one to one visit with seniors, hospital patients, children, or teens and is intended to help individuals maintain social interaction with the community and help relieve loneliness or build mentorships. Volunteers will visit seniors and hospitalized children to play board games, read, help with projects, or just to chat. Other projects include working to mentor youth.

Hunger and Homelessness
Homelessness remains one of America 's most complicated and important social issues. Children compose 25% of the homeless population in the United States and are more likely to be hungry or undernourished than other children, including poor, housed children.

Other
Various other projects are available, including car washes, Habitat for Humanity warehouse aid, library book sales, and more.

Painting Projects
Fresh paint can make an environment more inviting and a community more safe. Projects include creating murals, covering graffiti, and painting agency walls and buildings.
