USC and SAIT blocks "relaying" so you have to use your cable company's username, password, and outgoing server information. |
Configuring Outlook
- Open outlook
- Click on tools
- Click on email accounts
- Select view or change existing e-mail accounts
- Click on next
- Click on the e-mail account you want then click change
- Type in the Outgoing SMTP server name for your cable company (leave the incoming server as email.usc.edu).
- Click on More settings
- click on outgoing server tab
- Check the box for “my outgoing server (smtp) requires authentication
- Click on the button for “Log on using”
- Type in the username and password that the cable company provided (not USC).
- Check the box for “Remember password".
- Click on O.K.
- Click on Next.
- Click on Finish.
- Close outlook
- Open outlook and try to send a message.
