Note: As you go through the menus, write down all settings (IP address, etc.) before changing them, you will need to restore the settings once you’re back at USC if you want to connect to the Student Affairs Network. |
DHCP and DNS Settings:
- Right click “My Network Places” and select “Properties”.
- Right click “Local Area Connection” and select “Properties”.
- Left click “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” Check the checkbox, and click on “Properties”.
- Select “Obtain an IP address automatically”.
- Select “Obtain DNS server address automatically”.
- Click on “Advanced”.
- Select the “DNS” tab.
- Clear all settings except “Append primary and connection specific DNS suffixes”.
- Click O.K.
- Reboot.
You will need administrative rights to make the above changes. All laptop users should be “Administrator”, if you don’t have administrative rights to your laptop, please contact SAIT at 213-740-5244. |
