- Like the freshman survey, the transfer survey is given prior to the first semester that a transfer student attends USC; for incoming fall students, the surveys are given between April and August. We achieve very good response rates for this survey - 72% to 78% of new transfer students complete the survey.
- For the most recent incoming class of transfer students (fall 2010), we have used the USC Transfer Survey, created by USC researchers interested in addressing some of the unique characteristics and skills of USC transfer students. In past years, we have also used the CIRP (Cooperative Institutional Research Protocol) incoming student survey form the Higher Educational Research Institute (HERI) at UCLA.
- As with the freshman survey, students are asked about their expectations, concerns, and plans relating to their educational experience.
