Thank you for accessing the online request for assistance from the Student Outcome
Research office.
Most requests will be completed within two weeks of request date, and within one
week when possible. Longer turnaround times may be necessary if the request is large,
if data files are not currently available, or if there are many other requests made
prior to yours.
If your request requires immediate response (for example, requesting contact information
for students from an area struck by a natural disaster), please fill the request
form and then contact the SOR office at 213-740-5237 or
afahmy@usc.edu.
Once you answer a short set of questions, you will receive a confirmation that we
have received your request. You will then be contacted within one working day with
the estimated completion date or if additional information is needed.
Before we ask you a few questions, please consider the following information regarding
data availability, privacy of student information, and Institutional Review Board
(IRB) approval:
Data availability:
- Spring semester grade data is usually available in preliminary form in late-May
and in final form in mid-June.
- Fall semester grade data is usually available in preliminary form in mid-January
and in final form in late-January.
- Enrollment files are normally "final" (with some exceptions) after the
end of the third week of classes.
Privacy of student information:
- Details about university policy and federal rules about what student information
can be found on USC's Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) page:
