Types of classes (not all classes are offered every semester):
Cardioboxing : An intense aerobic class that utilizes the fundamentals of boxing and kickboxing including jobs, uppercuts, kicks, and more.
Interval Training : A “station” class similar to boot camp style moving from exercise to exercise for an A-1 overall body workout.
Hard Core: (Abs Only) : This 20-minute class targets the abdominal muscles and mid-regions of the body.
Hip Hop (Beg/Int) : Get in shape through the rhythm of hip hop. Getting in shape and getting it done in style.
Kickboxing: Punch. Kick. Jab. A great workout that combines boxing moves, martial arts kicks, and a cardio workout that will "sock it to you."
Kickboxing In Gear: NEW! This class combines the basics of kickboxing with equipment. Equipment should include boxing gloves, padded shields, and focus mitts. For individuals who want to take the class and need equipment, sign up at the front desk (30 minutes prior
to the start of each class).
Mat Pilates: Pronounced "puh-lah-teez" gives you a non-impact yet highly intense workout. Principles include core or center-based exercises for stabilization, strength, balance, and overall physical conditioning.
Muscle Conditioning : Strength training class that tones all major muscle groups using hand weights, body bars, resistance tubing, and floor work.
SCycling: USC's version of spinning or power pacing. An instructor directed indoor stationary cycling class utilizing cycling techniques, music, and visualization to create a non-impact workout. This class is limited to 20. Each participant must sign-up at the front desk to reserve a bike.
Step: A non-impact aerobic class utilizing steps (platforms) that develops strength and endurance. Modifications and variations offered for various cardiovascular levels.
Turbo Kickboxing (TKB): A highly explosive workout that combines kicks and boxing moves with the energy of a turbo engine. Crank it up!
Water Jogging : An instructor directed class that takes place in the McDonalds Olympic Pool. Participants utilize floatation belts and work out in a non-impact workout.
Yoga: Based on the ancient form(s) of yoga that focus on movement, balance, stretching, strength, flexibility, and relaxation. Style varies with instructor. Yoga mats available for check-out ($1) at the equipment desk.
Yoga Booty Ballet: A new style of yoga that blends upbeat moves and the grace and balance of ballet moves developing long, lean, and strong muscles.
