The University of Southern California is proud to announce the return of USC NYSP Trojan Kids Camp for its 41st year of service to the Los Angeles Community. The USC NYSP Trojan Kids Camp Program is designed for economically disadvantaged youth living around the USC Campus. The program provides an opportunity to promote a healthy and active lifestyle to youngsters 9-15 years of age. Unfortunately, the U.S. Government is no longer covering the cost of the program. For 2008, the camp will cost $200.00 per camper. Each camper will be provided a snack and lunch each day and will be given a camp T-shirt. Applications will be available starting April 14, 2008. We will enroll up to 175 participants. REGISTRATION INFORMATION Medical Exam – Each participant MUST provide a completed physical examination (within the last six months) to participate in the program. Ages – 9 to 15. Participants must be at least 9 and no older than 16 years of age by the end of camp on 7/25/08. (no exceptions). Completed Application – An application includes: application, physical exam and payment of $200.00. We can save a place for your son(s)/daughter(s) if you bring the application and a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 per application. All physicals and payments must be submitted by June 27, 2008 by 5:00 p.m. in order to secure a place in the camp. USC NYSP Trojan Kids Camp ($200.00)
9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., July 7-July 25, 2008 The USC NYSP 2008 Program will include: Instruction and Competition – One of the primary objectives of our program is sports skills education. Instruction is available in a variety of sports including: swimming, tennis, dance, martial arts, volleyball, soccer, football, golf, and others. Education Program – Our educational component features guest speakers to target issues and concerns specific to our community. Discussions cover such topics as: nutrition, career development, disease prevention, (dental care, personal hygiene and health), drug and alcohol awareness/prevention, community arts and leadership development. Special Events – Special events are scheduled throughout the program. Events will include a nature hike, beach trip, and Countrywide Tennis Classic.
