Rec Swim Etiquette

  • Talk to the lifeguards on duty for assistance or questions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why don’t the pools have fast, medium, or slow lanes?
A: There are too many levels of swimmers for just three designations- we have everyone from Olympic athletes to beginners. If there are empty lanes, people will swim in them- regardless of the speed designation. We don’t want to offend someone who may think they’re a fast swimmer, but they’re not the fastest in the pool.

Q: What is the busiest time at the pool?
A: The outdoor pools are typically most crowded from 7-8 AM, 12-1 PM, and 4:30-6 PM. The Indoor Pool is most crowded from 12-1 PM.

Q: What is Trojan Masters Swimming?
A: Trojan Masters Swimming provides structured workouts run by experienced coaches. Masters is for swimmers of all abilities from beginners to competitive swimmers. For more information go to swim.net/SCAQ
