Trojan Fitness and Wellness services provide opportunities for the entire USC community to participate in large group exercise, small group training and private 1-on-1 sessions.


USC Workout

With over 50 classes a week, USC Workout offers a fun and diverse environment for all of your fitness needs. Our instructors provide modifications for all fitness levels, so everyone can work towards their fitness goals. USC stays on top of national fitness trends to offer a variety of group fitness classes, including Zumba, Nike Training Club, SCycling, Mat Pilates and more.

Interested in bringing USC Workout to you? We’ve got you covered. USC Workout2U brings your favorite group fitness program to your location.


Private Instruction

Our Private Instruction services provide 1-on-1 Pilates Reformer or Yoga sessions to meet your individual fitness needs and goals.


Personal Training

Our Personal Training services provide customized training programs to meet your individual fitness needs and goals. Our certified Personal Trainers will educate and inform you about technique, proper body mechanics, and sound health and fitness principles all while providing motivation in a fun environment.


Massage Therapy

Indulge in our massage therapy sessions to feel more relaxed, decrease stress and tension or increase performance. Our certified massage therapists are knowledgeable in a variety of techniques to ensure each individual receives a massage specific to their needs.

Martial Arts – Aikido

USC Aikido (Shodokan) is based upon Tomiki Aikido, or Aikido Kiyogi, sport aikido which utilizies competition to strengthen and refine the participant’s techniques.

Group Fitness Memberships

Purchase a Group Fitness Membership for unlimited access to our Group Fitness Classes. Memberships are sold online through the online store or at the Lyon Center and HSC Membership desk. A Recreational Sports membership is required.

Interested in becoming a USC Group Fitness Instructor?
We will be offering an educational Fitness Instructor Training Course during the Fall. In this prep course you will learn key fitness principles and the fundamentals of different class formats. Participants will also have the opportunity to audition for a Group Fitness Instructor position. However, employment is not guaranteed. Upon successful completion of the Fitness Instructor Training Course, top candidates will be hired to join the USC Rec Sports Group Fitness Instructor Team. New instructors will complete a semester long mentor-ship program and begin team-teaching immediately.

Please note that becoming a Group Fitness Instructor can be a rewarding part of the academic experience. However it is a large time commitment. Before beginning the course, carefully consider your current involvement in outside extra-curricular activities.

Martial Arts – Aikido

The USC Aikido club (USC Shodokan) is based upon Tomiki Aikido, or Aikido Kiyogi, sport aikido which utilizies competition to strengthen and refine the participant’s techniques.  This class focuses upon the physiology, awareness and tactical response associated with confrontation and self defense. USC Shodokan is affiliated with Tomiki Aikido of the Americas.

Classes take place in PED 201 for the Spring 2017 semester, Monday 8:00pm – 10:00pm
The Martial Arts pass is just $70 for the semester.
