USC Fisher Museum of Art
The exhibition will be open from September 9th through December 19th. The artist's work from the last 30 years encompasses paintings, Polaroids, video, and interactive technologies. The exhibition will include pieces from the ongoing Space Field series, as well as work from Japan, Paris, Turkey, Mexico and Alaska. It will also feature work from several collaborations between Raphael and other artists.

8th Annual Kickin’ Cancer 5K Walk /Run & Women’s Healthcare Expo

The USC/Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center Walking Team will participate in the 8th Annual Kickin’ Cancer 5K Walk /Run & Women’s Healthcare Expo on Sunday, September 13, 2009. This event along San Vicente Boulevard in Brentwood is helping to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research. Kickin’ Cancer is a signature event of the Lynne Cohen Foundation for Ovarian Cancer Research and supported by the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Following a gourmet luncheon, University Professor and State Librarian Emeritus Kevin Starr discusses his latest book, Golden Dreams. In Golden Dreams: California in an Age of Abundance, 1950-1963, Starr details the dominant economic, social and cultural forces in post-World War II California. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m., with the lecture following at 1 p.m. Friends of the USC Libraries members, $60; general public, $75 (price includes parking, lunch and lecture).
