La Posada

6:00:00 PM -8:00:00 PM
United University Church

Since December 1999, El Centro Chicano has hosted “La Posada” in collaboration with the Latina/o Student Assembly and the Latino Parent Association. La Posada is one of the many Latin American holiday traditions in which participants symbolically retrace the steps of the Virgin Mary and Joseph on the night that baby Jesus was born. In candlelight procession, a couple dressed as Mary and Joseph lead followers across the campus to three stops and ending in a celebratory dinner. USC students, parents, faculty and staff members are invited to participate in La Posada along with families and local community members.
