Materials Request

We strongly encourage all new students to attend an orientation session. However, we understand that not all students will be able to attend. If extenuating circumstances prevent you from attending an orientation session, you may order a materials packet. To order materials, log into the Student Reservation System and complete a Materials Request submission. Orientation Programs begins mailing materials in early July for fall students and early December for spring students. Students requesting materials after August 1 (fall) or January 1 (spring) must pick up their materials at the Orientation Programs office located at the Hazel and Stanley Hall Building, Suite 100. Graduate students may pick-up their required new student materials anytime after August 1 (fall) or January 1 (spring). There is no fee for ordering materials with the exception of mailing packets overseas.

A materials packet includes the following:

  • USC Catalogue
  • SCampus (student handbook)
  • Orientation handbook
  • Contact sheet for academic advisors

Students requesting materials should first review all information within the packet and then contact their academic advisors to arrange a telephone or in-person appointment to register for classes.

Note: Students not attending an orientation session who request a materials packet will not be able to register for classes until July 25, following the last on-campus orientation session (January 6 for students admitted for the spring). Once you complete a Materials Request, you will not be able to make a reservation for an orientation session.
