Pre-Orientation Homework

Prior to coming to campus for Orientation, all graduate students are encouraged to complete their Pre-Orientation Homework. These steps will allow you to complete many transactional functions prior to your arrival and guide you through your transition to USC.

You may begin the Pre-Orientation Homework immediately upon completion of your online reservation and should complete it in its entirety no later than 72 business hours before the start of your Orientation session.

The Pre-Orientation Homework includes the following steps:

  1. Complete outstanding admission requirements
  2. Apply for USC Housing and order your parking permit
  3. Order your USCard and upload your photo
  4. Prepare for immunization requirements
  5. Understand your financial aid package and learn how to settle your tuition bill
  6. Sign up for Teaching Assistant training (if applicable)
  7. Sign up for TrojansAlert
  8. Sign up for Passport Verification (international students only)
  9. Sign up for the International Student English Exam (international students only - if applicable)
  10. Complete Academic Integrity tutorial
  11. Read USC Catalogue and SCampus to learn about academic requirements, university policies, and resources
  12. Access the MyUSC Portal and complete the Web registration tutorial
  13. Explore campus involvement opportunities
  14. Apply for on-campus employment opportunities
  15. Attend Graduate Student Orientation
  16. Attend departmental Orientation and meet with your academic advisor to register for classes
