Arrival

If for any reason you cannot arrive at USC by the date listed in section #3 of page 1 on your DS-2019, you must notify our office of your delayed arrival.  In many situations we do not need to issue new a new DS-2019; an update to your electronic immigration record is all that is required.  Please send your updated arrival date to j1exchg@usc.edu.

Upon entry to the U.S. you are to present the form DS-2019, the SEVIS fee receipt, and your passport to an Immigration Inspector. The Inspector will date stamp and return the DS-2019 to you.

We strongly recommend that you bring with you enough money for your arrival expenses and for at least your first month’s projected costs.
