Who can be a Mentor?
Any college graduate—from USC or another University—can be a mentor. We ask that mentors make time to maintain regular communication with their mentee. Prospective mentors must fill out a short application to be matched with a mentee.
Who can be a Mentee?
USC Latino Alumni Scholars are eligible to be mentees, and are encouraged to apply.
What is the Time Commitment?
Both mentors/mentees are asked to attend at least two events hosted by the YLC Scholarship Committee per academic year. In addition, the Scholarship Committee will notify mentors/mentees of other networking and professional development events that they can attend together. Mentors/mentees will be matched according to their professional and personal interests and the amount of time available to commit to the relationship. Each pair will decide how they will maintain contact and the frequency of their communication.
How and When do I Apply?
Mentors can obtain an application from the Scholarship Committee, the USC Latino Alumni Association Web site or the USC Latino Alumni Association Facebook page in August 2010. Scholars will be e-mailed an application in August 2011.
