Come Out as an Ally

“Come Out As An Ally” for National Coming Out Day.

The USC Ally Project hosted by the LGBT Resource Center and Queer and Ally Student Assembly (QuASA) is sponsoring the virtual Ally Project called, “Come Out As An Ally” for National Coming Out Day on October 11.

This is an ongoing project in which LGBT supportive Allies including students, staff, faculty and Alumni can declare their support for the USC LGBT Community.  The goal is to have USC Allies participate by taking a picture holding a sign saying, “I Am An Ally” and uploading it onto facebook on October 11.  Last year, 1,000+ USC community members participated.

How to get started:

  • Take a picture of yourself holding a sign stating, “I Am An Ally.” The sign can be typed on a computer, or you can display your artistic side, so long as the message is clear!  If you are LGB identified, you can be an Ally for the Transgender community and vice versa.
  • Upload this picture on the facebook event site: http://www.facebook.com/AllyProjectUSC
  • Upload this picture as your facebook profile picture on National Coming Out Day on October 11 to show your support to the LGBT Community and those people that have decided to come out as LGBT on this day.
