A Conversation with Jason Collins

9/12/2013, 4:00 - 6:00 PM Mayer Auditorium (HSC Keith Admin Building)

The KECK SCHOOL OF MEDICINE OF USC Dean’s Distinguished Lecturer Series brings A CONVERSATION WITH JASON COLLINS on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Mayer Auditorium (Keith Administration Building, 1975 Zonal Avenue, Los Angeles, CA, 90033) at the USC Health Sciences Campus. RSVP online at www.usc.edu/esvp (code: Collins)

A native Californian and formidable NBA defender, Jason Collins made history in May 2013 by becoming the first male athlete in the four major North American professional sports to publicly admit his homosexuality. He wrote in Sports Illustrated: “I am an NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay.”

This conversation will explore, among other issues, the role the publicity surrounding Jason’s announcement can play in helping reduce discrimination against members of the LGBT community.
