Hello Prospective Applicants!

Welcome to one of the many ways of applying for graduate employment at USC. Unfortunately, USC does not have a central location for graduate students to apply for graduate employment. This website is directly responsible for only those positions that are offered by the Division of Student Affairs. These part-time positions are open to any USC graduate student, however two conditions exist:

  1. Candidates who may receive preference are those who are applying or enrolled in the Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs (PASA) graduate program. This preference is because many of these positions prepare students for professional positions for career in Student Affairs.
  2. Due to course load or internship requirements, some positions may not be available to candidates who are enrolled in particular programs. Each employment opportunity description has clearly outlined these expectations.

If you have read the two above statements, and agree that you would be a good candidate for these graduate employment opportunities, please follow the checklist below:

  1. Candidates must complete an application for graduate employment through our website (ie: demographic information, resume and cover letter)
  2. Candidates must indicate interest in specific graduate employment positions. The application is entered into a database which the employers will review, according to which applicants have indicated an interest in the opportunities their department is offering.
  3. Candidates should be aware that indication of interest does not guarantee an interview with the employer. Graduate employment positions tend to be very competitive and the most successful candidates have expressed interest in several positions. Interviews will be determined by application review and position availability.
  4. January 5, 2012: This is the priority deadline for the initial screening of applications. Applications will be accepted after this date, however for priority consideration will be given to those who submit all requested materials by this date.
  5. Be certain to receive a confirmation email that the application has been received and entered into the database.

Once a candidate has applied, all of the remaining documents needed for the graduate program application should be submitted.

Friday, February 24, 2012: Preview Day hosted by USC's Division of Student Affairs
Preview Day is open to graduate students who have done the following:

  1. Submitted a complete application through this website
  2. Submitted a complete application to a USC graduate program (test scores, transcripts, recommendation letters, etc.)

Other Important Information:

  1. On Preview Day, candidates may interview for multiple positions, however candidates who do not attend the event will still have the opportunity to be interviewed for available positions at another time.
  2. Applications will be considered until all positions are filled. Additional openings frequently occur throughout the summer, and occasionally during the academic year.
  3. Additional candidates and all alternates who are not hired initially will be considered for later openings. Please check this website for the most updated listing of employment opportunities.
  4. The Division of Student Affairs centralizes this process by gathering candidate applications. After this process, each department will conduct their own selection process and phone interviews. Please use the contact information provided on each position description for specific questions regarding a position. Should a candidate have questions about this process, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). If you still do not find your answer on the FAQ page, please send an email to: gradjobs@usc.edu.

Thank you for your interest in graduate employment opportunities within the USC Division of Student Affairs.
