BROTHERS BREAKING B.R.E.A.D. (BBB)
Brothers Breaking B.R.E.A.D. (BBB) is a student organization founded by black men at the University of Southern California. The word BREAD is an acronym that stands for Barriers, Regrets, Egos, Animosity, and Doubt. The organization was designed to congregate and empower black men on campus who oftentimes have no designated space of brotherly fellowship. BBB acts as a hub for black male excellence and leadership. One of the main goals of the organization is to encourage black male leadership as well as repair issues that arise in the black male community such as, but not limited to hyper-masculinity, misogynoir, and homophobia. This organization is designed to be a space for anyone who identifies as a black man. With only the criteria of being a black man, BBB hopes to get men from all types of demographics. This diverse pool of individuals fosters a learning experience that allows for people to speak up on behalf of themselves. Through building professional and leadership skills while breaking down stereotypes and stigmas, Brothers Breaking B.R.E.A.D. hopes to be a permanent entity on the University of Southern California.
