Financial management is not part of any university’s curriculum. As private debt continues to escalate among college students, it is imperative for first year students to understand the importance of personal financial management. The USC Credit Union and other campus entities provide first year students the necessary information for them to make educated decisions regarding their personal finances.
Money 101
The USC Credit Union publishes a comprehensive booklet titled Money 101. In this publication, students will find the essentials for creating a budget, controlling expenses, handling credit card debt, and balancing a checkbook. It is important to establish good credit early to ensure a successful financial future, and Money 101 is designed to help you do just that.

USC Financial Aid Office
A college education is one of the most important investments any individual will ever make, and it is one of the few investments with an all but guaranteed return. By nearly every measure, an education from USC opens doors, unleashes potential, and produces a lifetime of rewards, both personal and professional.
USC administers a robust financial aid program. Undergraduate financial aid includes need-based grants, merit scholarships, low-interest loans, and work-study. USC has a long tradition of meeting 100% of the USC-determined financial need for those undergraduate students who satisfy all eligibility requirements and deadlines.
Not all students will qualify for need-based aid. USC offers a wide array of ways to pay for college, including installment plans, prepayment plans and long-term financing options.
