USC TROJAN KIDS CAMP
2014 Program Summary
The University of Southern California is proud to announce the return of USC Trojan Kids Camp (formerly known as NYSP) for its 48TH year of service to the Los Angeles Community. The USC Trojan Kids Camp Program is designed for economically disadvantaged youth living around the USC Campus. The program provides an opportunity to promote a healthy and active lifestyle to youth 9-15 years of age.
Each camper will be provided a FREE snack and lunch each day and will be given one FREE camp T-shirt. We will enroll up to 225 participants.
Medical Exam – Each participant MUST provide a completed physical examination (within the last 6 months) to participate in the program.
Ages – 9 to 15. Participants must be at least 9 and no older than 16 years of age by the end of camp on 7/26/13. (No exceptions).
UNO Voucher - There will be a $125.00 voucher available, to cover some of the cost, for students who attend the following schools and clubs near USC (if we receive a grant award): Alexander Science Center School; St. Vincent Catholic School; 32nd Street School; Foshay Learning Center; John W. Mack Elementary School; St. Agnes Parish School; Kids on Sports; Manual Arts Senior High School, Norwood Street Elementary School; Lenicia B. Weemes Elementary School and Vermont Avenue Elementary School.
Participants may print the UNO voucher from the website. Vouchers must be signed and stamped by the school to be valid (see list of schools above).
Completed Application – An application includes: application, physical exam and payment of $225.00. Accepted forms of payments include (ONLY): cash, money order, credit card, and checks payable to “USC”. We do not accept discretionary cards. We can save a place for your son(s)/daughter(s) if you bring the application and a non-refundable deposit of $25.00 per application. All physicals and payments must be submitted by June 21, 2013 by 5:00 p.m. in order to secure a place in the camp.

The USC Trojan Kids Camp 2013 Program will include:
Instruction and Competition- One of the primary objectives of our program is sports skills education. Instruction is available in a variety of sports including: swimming, tennis, dance, martial arts, volleyball, soccer, football, golf, and others.
Education Program- Our educational component features guest speakers to target issues and concerns specific to our community. Discussions cover such topics as: nutrition, career development, disease prevention, (dental care, personal hygiene and health), drug and alcohol awareness/prevention, community arts and leadership development.
Special Events- Special events are scheduled throughout the program. Events may include a nature hike, beach trip, amusement park and Countrywide Tennis Classic, LA Sparks Basketball game.
Food – Our agency participates in the Summer Food Service Program. This program allows us to give a FREE morning snack and lunch to all participants who have been accepted to the camp.
