Dedeaux Baseball Field

Dedeaux is the home of the USC Trojan Baseball team. Though its primary use is athletic competitions hosted by the Athletic Department, some competitions presented by Recreational Sports is scheduled for the "outfield" grass. Recent improvements and renovations will enhance the spectator experience when they come to Dedeaux Field to cheer the USC Trojan Baseball Team to victory!

 

Howard Jones/Brian Kennedy Football Practice Field

Howard Jones (the football coach, not the rock star) is the official practice field of the USC Trojan Football Team. In collaboration with the USC Athletic Department, Recreational Sports has been allowed to utilize the field on special occasions. Some of these include -- USC Rugby Club Team competition and the USC National Youth Sports Program (summer sports program for community youth).

 

McAlister Soccer Field

Located north of the University Park Campus, McAlister Field is home to the USC Women's Soccer Team. In addition to athletic competitions, Recreational Sports utilizes the facility for football, over-the-line, softball, and soccer competitions. In a collaborative effort to meet the needs of the university, USC Athletics and USC Recreational Sports also host a variety of events on McAlister including club team competitions, special events, and the USC National Youth Sports Program (summer sports program for community youth).

 

Watt Way Basketball Courts

We are excited to announce that the basketball courts behind the Dental School are now open!  The Outdoor Basketball Courts consist of two lighted basketball courts.The primary purpose of the Outdoor Basketball Courts is to provide a location for drop-in basketball that does not require a reservation or prior approval. 

 

USC Recreational Sports Intramural and Club Sports can reserve the facility for competitive league activities. These requests need to be processed through the normal facility reservation process for recreational facilities. The Scheduling Staff will maintain the event schedule and priority will be given on a first come first served basis.

 

All other groups can initiate their requests with the Recreational Sports Scheduling Office:

Rainout Practice Option: During inclement weather the courts may be used to accommodate club sport practices who have been displaced from a field that is closed for play.

 

Facility Hours: The Outdoor Basketball Courts will be unlocked at all times and open for play even when there is no supervisor present. The overhead lights for the basketball courts are manually operated but will go off at 11:30pm nightly.

 

Rental Rate: Please refer to the posted rental rates on our website www.usc.edu/recsports.

Potential non-basketball uses may include Soccer (only USC Recreational Sports approved), Dodgeball, Whiffleball and/or an approved club sport activities displaced by rain.

 

Figueroa Recreation Complex

Located on Figueroa Street on the east side of University Park Campus is a small but inviting recreation area, complete with sand volleyball court and several basketball courts. Recent renovations to the quality of sand in the volleyball court and to the basketball rims and backboards have made the facility very popular with the students and the community. Though its primary use is for USC students, Figueroa has become a friendly, community oriented area where both USC students and the community recreate in a sociable fashion.

 

Tennis Court - Sport Courts

Tennis Courts are located on the north-west side of campus just behind Dedeaux Baseball Field. In addition to the Mark Tennis Stadium, these tennis courts host intramural and athletic tennis tournaments and special events.Two of the courts have been resurfaced with "sport court" which allows for multipurpose use. In collaboration with the USC Physical Education Department, Recreational Sports utilizes the courts for tennis, cage soccer, cage hockey, and other events. Some of these include -- USC NIKE Training Club (group ex), tennis club, and the USC National Youth Sports Program (summer sports program for community youth).

 

Merle Norman Sand Volleyball Stadium

Opened in Spring 2013, the Merle Norman Sand Volleyball Stadium ushers a new sport to the USC Athletic list. These courts are located in the official practice and competition facility for the Women's Sand Volleyball Team. The stadium is located on the UPC campus along Figueroa just across the street from The Lab Gastropub.

 

In collaboration with the USC Athletic Department, Recreational Sports has been allowed to utilize the courts on special occasions such as the intramural sand volleyball competition.
